Exhibition to be opened by Coral Vinsen - Human Rights Activist

Artist's statement

"As an artist my involvement in Human Rights issues and Human Rights Organizations has developed me to be a Human Rights Activist. Why I became interested in Human Rights issues, is on account of my early childhood experience of humiliation and spiritual torture. I have used this talent of painting to express my past, present and future hopes"

Some of the titles of the works are "voter registration, Water, Health, Freedom of trade, Save the children, Housing, Dearest Dream - showing a powerful aeroplane in the sky - give clues as to the content of the works, Siphiwe is a talented artist with a special vision.

He has exhibited consistently since 1995 and a recent honour was to have a painting chosen for the new Constitutional Court in Johannesburg as a gift for the court and also to have a carpet made of the design for the research library.
